I met this couple almost six years ago when Maggie and I went to college together, my freshman year. Back then, Maggie and Cody were together, and it’s one of the only couples I felt that at the time, was the real deal. Seeing them together again for their engagement session reignited that for me because they made the best of a pretty tough session. Y’all, it was WINDY. Like, whip you with pellets of loose snow, chill your bones, mess up your hair kind of FREEZING wind.
But these two just laughed with me (between lots of blanket and car breaks) and embraced it. Cody tried so hard to protect Maggie from the cold, while they both just smiled through it. That is how I’ve always remembered them… Protective of one another, but willing to let each other experience life and come together in the end of it. I know so many couples who broke up after college, but these two had that special somethin-somethin’ that you just knew would make it. Then and now.
They are two of the kindest, most genuine and happy souls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I love that these photos truly encompass their love for one another and how happy they make each other because I feel like it is how I’ve seen their love all along! I absolutely cannot wait for their wedding in Estes Park in August. If we got these photos in a matter of 40 minutes, I can’t even imagine what we will create in beautiful Colorado towards the end of summer.
Here’s to a lifetime, you two! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for including me in this adventure in the most special way I could possibly imagine myself as. All my love, and then some!
