Unique and Fun Wedding at Dallenbach Ranch, Basalt, Colorado | Aspen Wedding Photographer
It’s not everyday a venue owner contacts you about shooting her wedding. It’s also not everyday that the groom, Jake, is heavily connected to the racing world and has a classic car. It’s ALSO not everyday that they have a “Ducky Derby” to race down the river (and yes - every single one was caught so it didn’t pollute the gorgeous water). So, all in all, safe to say this wedding was not typical, but in the BEST WAY! Every single event Courtney (our gorgeous bride) planned was to the T perfect and unique!
They started the day getting ready in their own gorgeous cabins, which are available to rent out and stay at for either your wedding or a personal retreat! Jake hadn’t seen Courtney yet, as they were waiting for a first look together and I love how much space there is on the property to “hide out” until these magical moments.
This image may be one of my favorite images I’ve taken. Jake was waiting out in this large, open field, to see the love of his life for their first look. I had him turned around, and he was playing with the grass with his fingers in anticipation of seeing her. Of course I had to stop and grab this moment, and I love the outcome of it! The photo right after this, shows them hugging and embracing immediately after we told them they could see each other!
The Dallenbach Ranch is a premier venue in Basalt, a town on the way to Aspen, Colorado. I refer to Jake + Courtney as “The Dallenbach Sweethearts” because Jake’s family owns the amazing ranch and they are the first Dallenbach couple to marry there! I think they were worth the wait, judging by this!
I was so fortunate to book with these two because I know how many talented photographers they know of in this valley, and they were the most fun, down to earth, epic couple I could have ever asked for! They planned a stunning day. From the intimate ceremony down by the river, to the florals, by my friend Ali over at Indigenous Design… The entire day was so gorgeous.
An old car, a cute cabin, and a cozy ceremony location right on the River on Dallenbach Road at the Dallenbach Ranch was a dream come true… Honestly, still reliving this day over and over again. Courtney + Jake have been so patient with me while I’ve been updating my computer since my old one took its last breath a DAY before their wedding. So now that I’ve been reliving it over and over while editing it, I wanted to share this gorgeous Colorado Wedding in Basalt with them, and you, too!
Thank you again for picking me to photograph your incredible day!
